Znanstveno delo (članek) objavlja rezultate znanstvenega raziskovanja. Za znanstveni članek je pomembna struktura pisanja in jasnost sporočila. Članek sestavljajo: naslov članka, ime in priimek avtorja, izvleček in ključne besede, uvod, material in metode, rezultati, razpravljanje, morebitne zahvale, literatura, morebitne priloge ter morebitni življenjepis avtorja. Pisanje pripravi avtorja, da jasno oblikuje svoje misli. S člankom avtor seznanja zainteresiranega bralca s svojim raziskovalnim delom.
Science is based on cumulativity. If scientific findings were not published, the science would not exist. Publishing of scientific research results is the basic feature in the scientific information and communicationthe process. Scientific work (an article) publishes the results of scientific research. The strcuture and clarity of writing is very important for such an article - the structure should be as follows: the tile, name and surname of teh author(s), abstract and key words, introduction, material and methods, results, discussion, possible thanks, literature, attachements and curriculum vitae of the author. It is the writing that forces the author to clearly describe his thoughts. Through the article the author informs interested readers about his/her research work.
The development of science is accompanied by the growth of scientific publications in the form of articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. We analysed the scientific papers of the employees of ...the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, University of Ljubljana, in the field of construction and geodesy for the period from 2003 to 2008, their citations, methods of publication and open access. The analysis was conducted in the ISI/Web of Knowledge and Google Scholar information systems. We wanted to determine how both information systems show the visibility of scientific production, specifically the number of articles and their citations, and make data comparisons. We have not found many significant differences in the information systems regarding these two elements.
