  • Surface characteristics of fiber reinforced concrete
Šušteršič, Jakob ; Zajc, Andrej, 1938-2021 ; Leskovar, Iztok, 1956-
Quality bond between fibres and hardened cement paste is one of the basically condition which lead to the improvement of fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) properties important for behaviour of slabs ... when they are under different types of statically and dynamically loadings. It is more important for improvement of surface characteristics of slab which show up as abrasion resistance, impact rasistance, apalling resistance of edges, scaling resistancedue to freeying in the presence of de-icing salts. But, in the case of steel fibres application in a concrete slab, two problems grow out: the first one is corrosion of steel fibres which are present on the slab surface and the second one are fibres jutted out from surface or even their easy pulling out due to surface loading or preparation of slab surface for placing of topping. Some results of laboratory tests and observations of FRC slabs which are in application up to ten years already are shown and discussed in the paper.
