  • Influence of roof-window with reflector on thermal response of a building

    To take full advantage of the sky radiation and increase the illumination of the building a two pane horizontal window has been added to the flat roof. The effectiveness of this window in making use ... of direct low-angle winter solar rays is improved by adding of a reflector to the northern edge of the roof-window. The influence of the roof-window with reflector on energy consumption was analysed for sample buildings with different positions of thermal insulation in constructional complexes of the envelope, for two heating modes and with additional night insulation on window. For the calculations of the changes of temperature and heat flows in time the computer program KAMRA-RW was used. It is based on a thermal network numericalmethod with five sectors with 11 temšperature nodes and 5 capacity zones for each part of the envelope. A comparative level of evaluation was used to find out interrelations between the involved parameters and their influence on total energy demand of the system. The reflector added to the roof-window generates considerable improvement of energy efficiency. In thois phase of the study the influence of the ventilation and internal gains is omitted
