    The car industry is a part of those economic activities where competition is particularly fierce. This results from the fact that consumers demand high quality vehicles with various special features ... at lowest possible prices. This calls for constant technological improvements by the car manufacturers as such as well as component manufacturers. This paper aims to present that companies are becoming aware of the fact that they will only be successful on today's extremely competitive market if they will be able to meet demands and requirements of most demanding customers and at the same time be profitable, taking into consideration that customers are not only interested in the quality of the product but also in quality that results from optimised processes in a company, where logistics or logistics management play an important if not a key role. To this end, an example of successful just-in-time concept in a car industry has been presented, which can help companies gain competitive advantage.
