  • Bearing capacity and settlement of vertically-loaded piles

    This paper presents the treatment of the bearing capacity and the estimated settlements for vertically loaded piles in an elasto-plastic ground. The solution presented is based on an elastoplastic ... analysis of the interaction between bored reinforced piles and a nonlinear foundation ground. Both the piles and the foundation are analysed using FEM. In the latter case , an elastoplastic constitutive model for dry soil conditions is also considered. The second part of the paper presents a comparison of the results of nonlinear interaction analysis and the results of field static tests. The conclusions confirm the applicability of research results to geotechnical practice.
