The primary goals of translation historiography should be to explore and establish the connections between translation and different historical periods, while illuminating the interactive impact of translation on each period and the special importance of translation in diverse sectors. Previous translation historiography has made breakthroughs in research methodology and broad macrohistory narratives. However, these advances do not represent case studies or in-depth accounts of microhistory, nor have they adequately investigated the historical facets of translation. In an effort to revisit translation in history, this article suggests, taking the book Unequal Treaties and Non-equivalent Translations(Qu & Wan 2021) as an example, that the primary tasks of translation historiography should be to investigate the historical scene of translation, construct the historical context of translation activities, demonstrate the complex relationships faced by translation activities throughout history, reveal what translat
