Brdo pri Kranju, 10 November: Central bank governor Marko Kranjec called for the passage of an austerity bill for 2012 and said that the new government would have to come up with a credible stabilisation programme right after the December election as he addressed the annual Days of Slovenian Bankers in Brdo pri Kranju on Thursday 10 November. According to him, the situation in all eurozone countries in financial troubles did not calm down until their governments put forward credible stabilisation programmes. This is why Slovenia needs such a programme, Kranjec added. Mojmir Mrak regretfully established that Slovenia lost contact with the core eurozone countries in the past year, which has increased the risk of expensive borrowing. This demands a quick response, he added.
