Peters Gullers writes the following about the pictures: "In the last two years I have regularly roamed Uppsala with camera and observed and documented daily life in streets and squares. No dramatic events, no fires, accidents, acts of violence with a so-called news value I have been a witness to. Today, what is not published in press or teve tends not to really exist. After all, it is in everyday life on the streets and squares that most of us come into contact with other known and unknown Uppsalabas. One reason why so many indivisible and spontaneous confirms that they notice that they are being photographed is perhaps that most of the time it is perceived as positive to be seen and thus confirmed. In the second place, I think the idea is that the gesture is a greeting to the future viewer of the picture in a possible publication. Nowadays it is no longer journalists, professional photographers and image editors who decide exclusively who should be confirmed by publication. Never have there been so much pictures as now and it is rather a rule than exception that the people you meet at sta 'n can be found with photo and personal data on the net - together with a often large number of named friends. But if we go ten or twenty years ahead in time, the question is what we then have for documentation of Uppsalaborna’s life today. The picture archives that are now often on mobile phones memory cards or laptocouples hard disks may not even be readable then - if they even remain. Peters Gullers skriver följande om bilderna: "Under de senaste två åren har jag regelbundet strövat omkring i Uppsala med kamera och iakttagit och dokumenterat det dagliga livet på gator och torg. Inga dramatiska händelser, inga bränder, olyckor, våldshandlingar med så kallat nyhetsvärde har jag varit vittne till. Idag tenderar det som inte publiceras i press eller teve att egentligen inte finnas till. Det är ju ändå i vardagen på just gator och torg de flesta av oss kommer i kontakt med andra såväl kända som okända Uppsalabor. En anledning till att så många omdelbart och spontant bekräftar att de märker att de blir fotograferade är kanske att det för det mesta uppfattas som positivt att bli sedd och därmed bekräftad. I andra hand tror jag tanken är att gesten är en hälsning till kommande betraktare av bilden vid en eventuell publicering. Numer är det inte längre journalister, yrkesfotografer och bildredaktörer som uteslutande bestämmer vilka som ska bli bekräftade genom publicering. Aldrig har det tagits så mycket bilder som nu och det är snarare regel än undantag att de människor du möter på sta´n går att finna med foto och personliga uppgifter på nätet - tillsammans med ett ofta stort antal namngivna vänner. Men om vi går tio eller tjugo år fram i tiden är frågan vad vi då har för dokumentation av Uppsalabornas liv idag. De bildarkiv som nu ofta ligger på mobiltelefonernas minneskort eller laptoparnas hårddiskar kanske inte ens är läsbara då - om de ens finns kvar".
