Leadership communication model for stress prevention during the current economic crisis [Elektronski vir]

In the time of the current economic crisis, which can also be described as a time of uncertainty and time of bigger stress for leaders and employees leadersʼ communication influential factors change. ...Therefore it is very important that leaders realize the need for a change in the leadership communication model. But such changes should not and cannot be just random. Such changes must follow the changed leadership communication influential factors. In our paper we described the changes of the influential factors of leadersʼ communication by analysing leadersʼ and employeesʼ behaviour change in the times of uncertainty in combination with key findings of global researches about the effect of the current economic crisis on leadersʼ communication. In this way we have defined the changes of the influential factors of leadersʼ communication and a need for a change in the leadersʼ communication model during the current economic crisis. With synthesis we divided all the findings into three groups: changed general conditions, specific communication needs, and critical elements of leadership communication in the time of the current economic crisis. In the last part of our paper we graphically presented a theoretical leadersʼ communication model for stress prevention during the current economic crisis and described the elements of the model taking into account the changes of leadership communication influential factors. We also presented all the elements on whichour model is based: trust and honesty, proactivity and spiritual and emotional intelligence.
