  • Formulation of silicone polyether surfactant-based microemulsions = Načrtovanje mikroemulzij s površinsko aktivnimi silikonskimi polietri
    Gašperlin, Mirjana, 1963 ...
In the present study, microemulsions with the nonionic silicone polyether surfactants ABIL B 8851 and ABIL B 8873, which differ only in their ethylene oxidežpropylene oxide ratio in the side chain, ... were formulated. To gain more insight into the physical properties and to predict the effectiveness of the surfactant, we have determined the effect of its structure on the surface tension of water solutions, on critical micelle concentration and on its adsorption at the airžwater interface, expressed as area per molecule. Further, various oils and cosurfactants were tested to obtain transparent microemulsions with tested nonionic silicone polyether surfactants. Selected microemulsions composed of silicone surfactant ABIL B 8851, cosurfactant Imwitor 308, oil phase Arlamol E and doubly distilled water express ideal Newtonian flow behaviour. Incorporation of the model drug, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, demonstrated microemulsions as a potential drug delivery system fordermal application.
