The design of automated warehouse with unequally sized storage compartments

Automated warehouses are widely used in numerous manufacturing companies and logistics distribution centers word wide. In this paper the model of designingw arehouses with unequally sized storage ...compartments is presented. The model enables to reduce overall costs due to a minimal warehouse volume, lower investment costs and as a consequence also lower operational costs. By changing input parameters in the model the application of the model enables a relatively simple, fast and reliable testing of different variants of the warehouse at an early designing stage. At present, the model enables warehouse volume optimization, while the static analysis of the warehouse is not taken into consideration. Nevertheless the model presents a good estimation of the cost analysis and it enables making business offers with regard to variable customers needs.
