  • ▫$H_2O_2/UV$▫ and ultrasound assisted decolouration and their effect on the formation of toxic organic compounds [Elektronski vir]
    Majcen Le Marechal, Alenka ...
In the study decolouration and degradation of textile effluents will be presented using advanced oxidation processes- H2O2/UV and ultrasound. In light of this we studied degradation efficiency of ... selected processes and proposed degradation mechanisms. On the other hand use of ultraviolet (UV) light to degrade and destroy organic pollutants in wastewater could be a source of toxic dioxins and dioxin-like compounds. Textile wastewater may contain the well-known dioxin precursors such as pentachlorophenol and chloranil. Since a generation of dioxins was reported from the direct photolysis of pentachlorophenol-containing water, we studied also the formation and transformation of persistent organic pollutants (dioxins) during the wastewater treatment with selected AOPs.
