  • Modelling the activity index variance for noisy multichannel observations [Elektronski vir]

    In this paper we present a study of noise influence on activity index variance. Activity index corresponds to Mahalanobis distance for MIMO systems and comprise contributions of the system input ... sources and noise added to the system output observations. The study aims to show how the activity index variance changes with system output additive noise and help improve modelling of activity index for the purpose of estimation of the number of sources. Activity index variance is analytically derived and modelled. The model is based on real characteristics of sources and noise and is validated through simulation studies.
