Numerical analysis of rotor-stator interaction in a reversible pump-turbine-pump mode [Elektronski vir]

The paper deals with the transient numerical analysis of reversible pump-turbine (PT) in pump mode. Flow conditions in a typical PT often point out the importance of the unsteadiness of the flow, ...first of all because of its instability caused by the viscous effects - the boundary layer separation, vortex spreading and the influence between rotating and nonrotating parts. The detailed analysis of the unsteady torque on guide vane pivots is presented. The numerical analysis has been performed for two different runners of pump-turbine with various turbolence models. The model has been tested at the new testing rig for PT and radial turbines.
