  • The response modeling of the dynamically loaded silty sand [Elektronski vir]
Žlender, Bojan, 1957- ; Trauner, Ludvik ; Lenart, Stanislav
The paper deals with the response of water-saturated silty sand on the dynamic load. An energy approach based on the idea that part of the energy of a dynamic load is dissipated into the soil is ... presented. The dissipated energy, determined from the stress-strain hysteresis loop, is generated as a function of increasing pore water pressure. The pore water pressure is divided into the residual and temporary parts. Such a formulation allows response modeling, which includes a description of: the dynamic load, the residual and temporary parts of pore pressure and the temporary strain during the time of dynamic loads. A description is given with functions that can be obtained from the results of a series of cyclic triaxial tests. The usefulness of such a model is shown in the case of silty sand "Bostanj". A series of 32 triaxial cyclic triaxial tests was performed and the response functions with their parameters values were determined. The model was verified in each individual test results and in the case of dynamic loads, which is simulated earthquake load. There is good agreement between calculated results and experimental results.
