Performance comparison of double and single rotor permanent magnet machine [Elektronski vir]

This paper presents the performance comparison between a special double rotor permanent magnet synchronous machine and the adequate conventional single rotor permanent magnet machine. The here ...presented double rotor machine is primary meant for use in hybrid electric vehicles to improve the fuel economy and to reduce emissions of the whole traction system. The goal of this paper was to evaluate the performance of this machine by comparison to the single rotor machine. Finite element analyses are employed to determine the performance of each machine, where special attention was paid to the iron loss and electromagnetic torque calculation.
