  • Besedna in telesna komunikacija
    Kovačič, Dare
In 1960s and 1970s in the time of great interest in research of expression and communication the division into verbal and nonverbal communication has been established. While the first refers simply ... to language, the second is not uniform, it consists of many different forms - modalities, channels, codes and messages - according to the term anything but words. Because of such formal and content deficiencies the term bodily communication is more adequate. Verbal and bodily communication reveal two sides of man: rational and emotional, conscious and unconscious, functional and relational. The most important differences between them are: form and substance of signs and codes, type of reference, semantic function, neurophysiological localization, capacity of reflectiveness and greater consciousness of language, greater intercultural validity of bodily communication.
