The current situation in the world forces us to deploy the power of knowledge to achieve the goals we had set. However, it takes more to materialize these goals than just having the appropriate ...knowledge. A very important factor is what kind of knowledge we have, how we deploy it and how well do we manage it.The objective of this research was to analyze knowledge management in medium sized wood companies in Serbia and Slovenia by means of surveys and personal interviews. The conclusion was that the majority of companies manage their knowledge poorly and only few companies realize the competitive edge brought about by proper knowledge management.
