  • Influence of morphological characteristics on motor abilities of six-year-old children [Elektronski vir]
    Muhič, Miran, 1961-
Through our research we wanted to discover the influence of morphological characteristics on motorical abilities of six-year-olds. We had a sample of 128 six-year-old children. The tests are made of ... eight motorical tasks, which we used for discovering balance, coordination, explosive strength and repetitive strength. We compared the results of motorical test with the morphological characteristics of sixyear- olds in the sample. According to our research the weight of boys has an influence on motorical abilities we measured. The boys weighting more than 25 kg have less developed motorical abilities than those who weight up to 25 kg. Examing the girls we face an opposite situation. Motorical abilities of the girls, weighting more than 25kg, are better than motorical abilities of those who weight less than 25 kg. The body height has an influence on the motorical abilities we measured. The kids, higher than 123 cm, have achieved better results in motorical tests than those who are shorter than 123 cm. We discovered that girls are better than boys in the tests of repetitive strength, but boys have achieved better results in the tests of coordination and explosive strength. There is no noticable difference between boys and girls in the tests of balance.
