    Accidents at work are beside the occupational diseases the most important negative health indicator. Their importance is in presenting quality of healthand safety at work and to plan the preventive ... activities for improving worker s health. The present diploma thesis deals with occupational injuries which occurred in Gradis, Construction establishment Ljubljana, d.d. in the period 1996 to 2000. The purpose of the paper is to analyse the reason of occupational injuries and the factors which influence them. The pathology of injuries at work is evaluated and the measures for their reduction are proposed. The data on accidents at work are from database of the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Slovenia and Gradis, Construction establishment Ljubljana, d.d.. We have processed them by statistical programmeSPSS for Windows 8.0 and Excell. Result: The frequency of occupational injuries in the five-year period was 53.6 injured per 1000 employees. This value is higher than IF in Slovenia in the same period. The average period of absence from work per one case of occupational injury was 46working day. Among 130 injured persons were only two woman. The most frequently injured persons were ageing between 46 and 50 years. The days with the largest number of injuries were Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, the months with the largest number of injuries were November and June. The part of the body that was the most frequently injured were hands and fingers. The injuriesusually occurred due to blows caused by various tools (e.g.a hammer) and drop object. The result of the study were compared with the result of the analyses of occupational injuries in the Republic of Slovenia and constructionfor the mentioned period. Conclusion: The study shows that the reasons for injuries at work were complex, therefore all the involved should work together in order to enable an improved management of professional traumatism.
