  • Impeller power numbers in vessels of square cross-section

    Power numbers in the region of Reynolds numbers ▫$10^4<N_Re<6x10^4 for several types of open mixing and closed pump-mix impellers in vessels of square cross-section are presented. The impellers used ... in the experiments produce radial an axial flow patterns. It is shown that the Power numbers for impellers causing predominant radial flow patterns are greater than Power numbers for impellers causing intensive axial flow patterns. For closed pump-mix impellers Power numbers for turbines without shrouds are greater thanfor shrouded ones of otherwise identical geometry.$▫
