  • Optimization of cutting conditions for machining of parts of agricultural machines
    Muršec, Bogomir ; Ploj, Anton
In the past, the parts of agricultural machinery were made by forging. The presision of the parts forged was rather bad. At that time, what was important was not the precision of the manufacture, but ... the functionalitz. However, nowadays the technological and tehnical solution is highly important. The optimization of cutting conditions is very important in machining, i.e. mainly turning, of rotational parts of the agricultural machines. Such parts include the rotar axle of rotary hoe and the axles of other machines. Integral model for the selection of optimal cutting conditionsrepresents the integration of individual data bases in the computer aided tool management system. The contribution proposes a programme OPTIS for optimization of cutting conditions from commercial data bases with respect to minimum machining costs by taking into account the cutting process limitationsin turning. The OPTIS selects the optimum cutting conditions with respect to the tool maker, workpiece material, type of machining, machine, smallest and greatest cutting conditions, tool, data on series, type of clamping and workpiece geometry. Proper selection of optimum cutting conditions assure considerable reduction of the costs of machining of agricultural machines.
