  • Poklicna okvara sluha strojnega steklarja = Occupational noise-induced hearing loss in glass engine operator
    Ratkajec, Tihomir
The aim of the article is to describe the case of the occupational hearing loss in a glass machine worker who is now 45 years old and to describe procedures adopted by this worker, his employer, the ... occupational physician and the commission for the assessment of the disability. The exposure to the noise was assessed by noise measurement. The medical history, clinical ear status and the audiometric test data helped to prove the chronic occupational hearing loss. The worker started to work in 1987 and three years later the light noise-induced loss of hearing progressed to 40 dB at freguencies of 4000Hz. The damage increased to deafness after 19 years of his working life. The ranges of the noise values were 90.9 - 97. 7 dB(A) in the period from 1993to 2003. The occupational physician defined the noise-induced hearing lossas an occupational disease, but the commission for the assessment of the disability has still not confirmed it.
