Ageism as a socially constructed phenomenon

The process of ageing is a socially constructed phenomenon dependent on peopleʹs perception. Historical and cultural transformations, the absence of older people in important social roles and the ...negative social attitude towards the process of ageing create conditions for the discrimination of older people in other words, ageism. The research presented here is focused on the ageist attitude and the attitudes of others towards older people.
