  • Nevrološko ocenjevanje in sledenje razvoja nedonošenih otrok = Neurologic assessment and follow-up of preterm infants
    Šušteršič, Breda
The article shows the use of the method on qualitative assessment of general movements for early detection of brain damage in a group of preterm infants. The method has good predictive value already ... at the age of three to four months of corrected age for distinguishing infants without brain damage from those who are in special need of further attention. I point out the possibility of follow-up using the Amiel-Tison and Gosselin neurological assessment up to the age of six years to recognize the children who are at risk for learning disabilities and minimal neurological dysfunctions. Our results confirm good predictive value of both methods for early detection of cerebral palsy or later minimal neurological dysfunctions.
