Predmet izuma je granulat iz sedimentov ali odpadkov, ki vsebujejo glineno komponento, ki lahko vključuje ustrezne dodatke za povečanje sposobnosti absorbiranja tekočin, postopek priprave granulata, ...uporaba tako pripravljenega granulata kot posip za mačja stranišča ali druga nasutja za absorbiranje tekočin, in naprave za izdelavo granulata. Granulat in postopek priprave granulata iz glinenih odpadkov, ki se jim po potrebi lahko dodajajo ustrezni dodatki, tako rešuje po eni strani problematiko odvečnih materialov, ki zavzemajo velike površine na deponijah in predstavljajo strošek za imetnika tovrstnega odpadka, in po drugi strani ponuja tehnično sprejemljiv in cenovno konkurenčen material, ki služi kot posip za mačja stranišča in podobne aplikacije, kjer je potrebno absorbirati tekočine.
