Oblike in načini športne aktivnosti v povezavi s socialno stratifikacijo : Types and modes of sport activities in relation to social stratification

Sport and recreational activity largely depends on social and cultural factors; of these the most influential include gender, age, environment and education to which the population's socio-economic ...status is related. In 1973, a longitudinal study was launched in Slovenia dealing with the sport and recreational activity of Slovenians. The article presents some results of the most recent study concerning the types and modes of sport and recreational activities in relation to socio-demographic characteristics. Moreover, a comparison between the sport activity of Slovenians and other European nations will be made and a discussion on the development of sport recreation in Europe presented.
