Okoljski vidiki umeščanja elektroenergetskih vodov v prostor [Elektronski vir] = Environmental aspects of OHL spatial siting

Siting of OHLs involves a relatively considerable encroachment upon various environmental elements. Unlike is the case with other line facilities, relatively easily assessed by the public as ...acceptable, the paradigm prevailing for OHLS is that they are environmentally harmful. As seen from various reports on OHL environmental impacts, they are too often focused mostly on environmental restrictions neglecting positive effects of a certain spatial arrangement on the social development, whereas the very target of spatial arrangements and the Law on Environmental Protection is promoting and directing sustainable social development. To allow for adequately harmonised OHL spatial siting, the first step to be taken is to recognise the various environmental elements in a certain space. By using an appropriate methodology, the overall impacts, the negative as well as also the eventually positive ones, of a specific spatial arrangement on an individual environmental element should be analysed and, based on thus obtained findings,an overall assessment of the entire environmental impacts made. This approach was made use of in an environmental siting of two transmission and one distribution OHL in the Slovenian electric power system. The paper brieflypresents the related theoretical procedures and their practical implementation at this siting.
