  • Interactive theoretical-numerical-experimental methods for the characterisation of composite systems
    Cardon, Albert H. ...
Due to the increasing complexity of advanced composite material systems their characterisation on test specimen becomes very difficult and even impossible in many cases. Inverse methods were largely ... developed over the last decennia. Those methods combining the results of some analytical or numerical methods based on assumed material characteristics with an experimental result allows, after an iterative process, to obtain the real, even in situ, material characteristics. Those mixed methods need a good model and an efficient iterative procedure. Asymptotic solutions obtained for thin walled elastic bodies as developed by J. Kaplunov, L. Kossovich and E. Nolde, [1], can be generalised to viscoelastic material systems and used as analytical comparison results in relation to some experimental measures in order to obtain the characteristics of the material system.
