Computer aided design of diode mixers and Mesfet amplifiers using harmonic balance method

The paper presents the computer aided design of some types of microwave components by using the harmonic balance algorithm. The design is based on the large signal equivalent circuit model, ...representing the microwave device, divided into the linear and nonlinear multiport subcircuits, which enables the frequency domain analysis of different types of circuits. The large signal-small signal analysis of the diode mixer is presented and corresponding conversion matrices are computed. The harmonic balance analysis is performed also in the case of the Mesfet power amplifier, resulting in the maximum output power and the efficiency of amplifier.
