The machinability of a material is a complex attribute that represents the ability of the material to be changed in shape under certain conditions without the appearance of cracks or other damages. ...It depends on numerous parameters like chemical composition, phase structure, applied temperature, the speed and level of deformation and stress conditions. This paper presents the analysis of the machinability of a cold extruded CuCrZr piece as a function of stress conditions. Based on the calculation of the stress condition indicator [beta] and the value of effective deformation, the determination of zones with the highest possibility of crack and damage appearance was performed.
