Revised generalized Child-Langmuir law

A set of approximate but highly reliable algebraic equations which completely define the potential profile inside a plane hot-cathode diode is derived. As a result, the current-voltage characteristic ...of the diode is expressed in the form of a new generalization of the Child-Langmuir law. Unlike the "standard" generalized Child-Langmuir law, the latter result provides an explicit functional dependence of the diode current on the external diode parameters.
