Accurate reproduction of coloured textile samples

The task of textile designers is to create ever new designs (patterns) which are adjusted to fashion frends and to the demands of costumers. Textile designers are bound to use advanceds CAD/CAM ...systems that are linked to computer colorimetric and colour matching-reciping systems. Despite the extremely rapid development of computer graphics some problems have remained unsolved. A highly accurate reproduction of the colour of an object on a CRT or on a colour graphics output device represents a problem of this kind.
