    This paper explores the emotional potential of those German commercial slogans which have moved beyond their original context of advertising and have been used or recontextualised in new media and ... contexts with a generalised meaning. The manifestation of emotions in recontextualised commercial slogans can be observed in terms of their potential to describe emotions, to express emotions and finally to emotionally influence the readers. Although the focus of the analysis lies at the text level, the expressed description of emotions on the word and sentence level will also be taken into account.
