Technical possibilities and economic efficiency of trigeneration

In buildings, which are supplied with different kinds of energies: electric energy, hot water, steam and cooling energy, is from an energy aspect trigeneration system very good solution. For this ...systems is typical simultaneous production of electric, heat and cooling energy. This paper presents the principle of trigeneration, the technology that can offer a highly way of converting primary fuel (gas, oil) into useful energy in a form of electricity, heat and chilled water simultaneously. Some examples of industrial trigeneration systems are analyzed and discussed to illustrate the principles of application. An economic analysis of such systems is given and investment costs are compared.
