A new recyde type continuous now membrane reactor was constructed to analyze available data obtained in a continuous now and/or batch reactor configurations. Operating range of new reactor is 1-15 ...bar, 25-170 oC and trans-membrane pressures (TMP) from 0.05 to 2 bar. The residence time can be varied between 1.5 and 30 minutes. The Reynolds number up to 2600 can be reached by means of an internal recyde pump. On the basis of more than 200 experimental points it is confirmed that the liquid phase can be selectively displaced from the membrane carrier layer, whereas selective liquid displacement from further filtration layers is questionable.
