Osnove razvoja VoIP aplikacij

In this paper, basic principles and standards of development of IP (Internet Protocol) telephony applications (VoIP as Voice over IP) is presented. The paper is mostly focused on the problem of ...developing applications for transmission and control of audio (speech) media streams in computer networks by using descriptions and analyses of already accepted standards. Leading vendors and operators of telecommunication equipment uses these standards. Most of the place in the presentation belongs to the group of standards for multimedia telecommunications in different networks, which is known as ITU H.32X. Among these standards, H.323 is the most interesting. The paper also introduces new standard for developing VoIP applications, which does not have such commercial success as H.323, but has some good predictions for success. This standard is called SIP.
