  • Orodje za prikaz delovnega prostora zgornjega uda pri omejeno gibljivi rami : prikaz uporabe = Arm workspace assessment tool for limited shoulder function : example of use
    Bajuk, Slavica ...
Objective: Shoulder ROM measured using a universal goniometer and the interpretation of these measurements play a major role in the arm rehabilitation following injury or pathology. The purpose of ... this paper was to use a computer program for the interpretation of these measurements and to present the arm workspace graphically and numerically based on the arm kinematic model that includes the glenohumeral joint with normal shoulder girdle and elbow movements. Methods: Shoulder ROM measurements and patient height were entered into the DePro program and the arm workspace was calculated and presented in qualitative (three dimensional graphics) and quantitative form (calculated volume). The arm workspace represents the area within reach of a reference point on the wrist. Passive ROM of the shoulder joint was measured: flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, external and internal rotation. Involved and uninvolved arms were measured separately and the workspaces of arms were compared. Results: The graphics of the arm workspace are a visual presentation for the patient, physical therapist and other medical professionals. Volume calculations are used to numerically support the computer aided documentation. Repeated measurements of the involved arm can be used to document changes during therapy and to assess the final results of therapy. Comparison of the involved and uninvolved arm workspace of the same patient gives additional information for disability assessment. Conclusion: This computer aided tool enables qualitative and quantitative presentation and documentation of consequences of limited shoulder ROM on the workspace of the arm based on ROM measurements. These three-dimensional displays and volume calculations of the arm workspace closely represent the physiological shoulder and arm movements used in performing daily work activities.
