The compiled glossary is a terminological glossary whose subject orientation is a specific field of medicine. It is an English-Russian-Slovenian glossary of physical and rehabilitation medicine. The ...purpose of the compilation of the glossary was to research texts, extract the most frequently used English terms, find Russian and Slovenian equivalents and try to compare all three languages. Terminology and terminography were the bases of this thesis. Terminological dictionaries deal with the selection of terms and compilation of dictionary entries; terms are the basic units of terminology. After delimiting the concepts of terminology and terminography (the study of the compilation of specialised dictionaries), clarifying the differences between LSP and LGP, I included some of the processes concerned with terms, for example, term formation, synonymy, and standardisation of terms. I then focused on the Russian and Slovenian medical terminology, which has been going through constant changes for centuries, especially due to new scientific discoveries and technological changes. The practical part consists of the description and explanation of the glossary and its content. It was especially important to define the target audience. The glossary is designed for a more complex group: native and non-native language learners for translation, reception, and production purposes. Afterwards, I explained the methodology, presented the materials used for extracting English terms and for searching Russian and Slovenian equivalents. The material was diverse: from scientific journals to reference books, dictionaries, Internet, manuals and so on. The final goal was the glossary. By comparing terms in English, Russian, and Slovenian, I was able to see that although globalisation is quite a powerful process, and Russian and Slovenian accepted many borrowings, there are still local Russian and Slovenian terms used within the medical sphere.
