Phraseme und ihre Modifikationen in der Jugendzeitschrift Bravo = Frazemi in njihove modifikacije v mladinski reviji Bravo : diplomsko deloLožar, Petra, 1985-The diploma thesis focuses on the phenomenon of idioms and modification of idioms in the youth magazine Bravo, particularly in their appearance in the advertisements. In the theoretical part are ... given different interpretations and classifications of idioms and modifications of idioms, descriptions, in which text types idioms appear. Finally, the advertising language, the function and structure of advertisements and youth linguistic elements and anglicisms are explained in more details. Additionally, an important role belongs to visual elements in advertisements, which complement the text and have their specific function. In the empirical part we analysed ten advertisements from the youth magazine Bravo. In ten editions of the journal Bravo (Bravo no. 26, 21. 6. 2011 - no. 35, 24. 8. 2011), there are many advertisements that are repeated, or have almost no text or do not contain idioms or their modifications. We expected that idioms or their modifications would appear often in the language of young people or in advertisements for the youth target group. But in the analysed advertisements the idioms are rare. Most commonly, the idioms appear in headlines (six times) or in body copies (nine times), rarely also in slogans (once). Although the youth usesmany anglicisms and other foreign words, this cannot be confirmed by the analysis of the advertisements from Bravo. The analyses of advertisements comprise of both the image and text analysis. It is noted that the advertisements with content and language, which are supported by visual elements try to catch the attention of the youth. The theme of the ads is closely linked to the youthful world of experience and youth problems.
