Zur Komplexität der phraseologischen Bedeutung : Lexikographische Aspekte

Determining of a usually complex phraseological meaning is one of the most important areas of a phraseological research. Its corresponding lexicographical documentation and presentation require a ...systematic and methodically thorough determination and evaluation of empirical language data, as based on theuse of textual examples. In the article, three lexicographically relevant aspects of the phraseological meaning and the problem of their lexicographical treatment are discussed: motivation, vagueness and pragmatic potential including speaker's attitudes.The results are based on the selected examples from the representative German dictionaries Duden online and DWDS (as of 2019) and the German phraseological dictionary Duden 11, Redewendungen. The aim of the research is to point out, once again, inadequacies in phraseological practice and to make suggestions for the improvement.
