Polymer modified precast concrete - applications in Slovenia

PMC is characterised by properties lying in the very broad range between pure polymer concrete and classical cement concrete. For this reason, the possibilities of tailoring these concretes to the ...desired or required properties through suitable selection of the typr and quantity of polymer are exceptional, especially if we also consider the use of different types of micro-fibres that can be added. This paper illustrates a few succesful applications of these concretes in Slovenia, where the technology, of the use of polymers in concrete is still at an initial stage. Due to the fairly large number of concrete works underway recently and because of the exceptionally rapid development of the polymer industry, which is flooding the market with new, improved and cheaper types of polymers, the concrete industry in Slovenia must also adapt to the use of these materials in those areas of production where it is feasible.
