Ženska svetovalnica = Women's counselling service

The paper focuses on a non-governmental womenćs psycho- social project,ĆThe womenćs counselling serviceĆ, which was opened in Ljubljana and run by women volunteers since 1993. The women who work ...there would like the first priority that their service presents a safe space for women who are in coming. It is wellknown that women are more likely to seek for the help for others, their children, man, yet rarely for themselves. For the women who are visiting the Womenćs Counselling Service, it very often means that they have decided to place themselves in the first place. Some basic principles of the serviceČ a practiced feminist perspective, self-help, re-evaluating the power relationship between counsellor and user, strict confidentiality, anti-discriminative practices, normalisation, deinstitutionalisation and community orientation.
