  • Transition and economic recovery in the case of Slovenia

    In this paper we analyse reasons and consequences of transformational recession in Slovenia and key features of economic growth as a result of macroekonomic stabilization, microekonomic restructuring ... and establishing new markets. In comparison with other reforming countries Slovenia had an advantage to be more developed and market oriented where on the other hand the political circumstances in the region were the most severe disadvantage. Slovenia succeeded to turn the recession into economic growth without disturbing the macroeconomic balances. In some elements the transitional pattern of Slovenia differed from those in other reforming countries.
