The heat circumstances in switch by permanent load

The heating of motor protection switch (MPS), caused by Joule losses by permanent load is presented in this article. Geometry inside the switch housing was simplified, and only one pole of the ...three-pole switch was considered. According to the regulations, connection conductors also need to be considered by heating, so they were replaced by the appropriate boundary conditions on the connection parts. In this way we tried to approach the real heat circumstances. The calculation of Joule losses and heat circumstances wasbeen made using the finite element method (FEM).
