  • Strategies for stress management in small business companies [Elektronski vir]

    The European Agency for Health and Safety at Work states that stress within organization is the second most frequent trouble and affects as many as 28 % of employees. Loss of health due to stress ... constitutes neither the biggest nor the only cost in the companies. This may be a special problem in small business companies which mostly have no more that 50 employees and hence, each of them is very important for the carrying out of business. Hence, it is necessary to think carefully in such organizations what to do to prevent stress in employees. In order to solve this problem, various stress management strategies can be developed. In the paper, first of all, the problem of stress people face with recently is presented. Then the economic impact of stress as well as the factors within the work environment that may cause stress is discussed as well. Besides, the strategies that may be developed in small business companies for managing factors that cause stress with the employees are presented widely. Such strategies include creating favourable organisational climate, job enrichment, reducing conflict and precise definition of roles, etc.
