  • The impact of employee diversity management on competitiveness of an organization [Elektronski vir]

    The labor force all around the world is becoming increasingly diverse. Thus, organizations that can manage employee diversity (ED) effectively gain a competitive advantage. This advantage stems from ... the process by which the management of diversity affects organizational behavior and effectiveness. Effectively managing diversity can influence organizational costs and employee attitudes, recruitment of human resources, sales, market share and corporate profits, group problem solving and productivity, and innovation and creativity. The paper explores the relationship between managing diversity and each of these outcomes. In the paper, first of all, the term diversity of employees is defined. Then its elements, like various types of personality, values and attitudes of employees, the family issue, and demographic trends that managers should know in order to successfully manage the diversity of employees in their organization are discussed as well. Besides, different approaches and methods of ED management are examined. The paper concludes with the presentation of relationship between managing diversity and particular area in which organizations can gain competitive advantage.
