  • Analysis of the spatial correlation between dissolved mercury and salinity in the adriatic sea : tesi di laurea magistrale
    Bruzzese, Elena
This thesis deals with a series of environmental problems according to the geostatistical methodology. The objectives of this study are to apply geostatistics tools (variograms, kriging methods, ... etc.) to different samples of mercury species and 2 parameters for data mapping. The analysis was performed using a powerful software, as is the language R (Version 3.5.0), it was possible to conduct the whole analysis, from the preliminary exploration to the spatial evaluation of specific elements and parameters. The methods of geostatistical analysis have been applied to the study of samples of mercury species, DGM, RHg, THg, MeHg, DMeHg and of the suspended solid matter parameters, temperature, oxygen salinity and fluorescence, in the Mediterranean basin. The purpose of this research is to study the spatial distribution of mercury species in marine waters. This work was done using the geostatistic methods of ordinary kriging and Kriging with external derivation. The mapping of ordinary kriging (OK) was compared with the mapping of kriging with external derivative (KED).
