Metric properties of graphs and applications to organic chemistry

The dissertation considers the most distance-based graph invariant in mathematical chemistry, the Wiener index, as well as a recently proposed invariant, the so call Szeged index. Although the Wiener ...index has been well investigated for the last 50 years, this thesis succeeds in contributing several new results and provides a nice synthesis of previous work - mostly related to computational aspects of the Wiener and the Szeged index.
