The symbolism of the centre and its demystification = Le symbolisme du centre et sa démystification

The discoveries of the contemporary symbology justify the supposition, that the symbolism of the centre has to be regarded as a metacultural phenomenon. So the aim of the present study is to ...ascertain the causes of its universalityand to construct a theory, that could explain it. The desire to be found in the centre has always appeared on two levels: on the individual and on the social or cultural level. Besides, its appearance is independent of the real or potential contacts among the members of different cultures. For this reason the centre can be considered an objectification of the archetypal forces, which are derived from the profoundest sources of the unconscious and are articulated under the influence of different individual and social factors.
